PlayblastVR for Maya

PlayblastVR is a renderer for Maya that creates hardware rendered panoramic images using OpenGL or DirectX. The PlayblastVR renderer allows you to create immersive previz renderings of Maya scenes in LatLong, angular fisheye, domemaster, cylindrical, and cubic panorama formats.

The PlayblastVR renderer can render previews of elements like animated polygon and NURBS geometry, lights, fluid effects volumes, FumeFX volumes, paint effects strokes, sprites, particles, nParticles, nHair and fur, cloth sims, and shading networks.

PlayblastVR supports rendering output to Google PhotoSphere spherical panoramas, and YouTube 360 + Facebook 360 movies with automatic metadata embedding.

After a PlayblastVR panoramic rendering is complete it can be sent automatically to a panoramic viewing program or a video playback tool like DJV Viewer, Adobe SpeedGrade, Amateras Dome Player, Assimilate Scratch and Scratch Player, Buf Software BVIEW, Domemaster3D DomeViewer, Kolor Eyes, GoPro VR Player, QuickTime, Whirligig, Whirligig SteamVR, VLC, VLCwarp Player, RV, Live View Rift, FCheck, or IMF Display.

PlayblastVR previz renderings will save you time & money because hardware based panoramic renderings make better use of the artist’s time. Using PlayblastVR will also free up your render nodes from having to use a slower software based production renderer to output your animation test renderings into a panoramic format.

New in Version 2.2
PlayblastVR v2.2 adds initial Maya 2017 support including the “Render Sequence” feature and “Workspace Control” based dockable windows, Hardware Fog support, a new “Advanced” tab in the render settings window with controls for re-rendering footage and applying Hold-Out Masks, a new “Selection Highlighting” checkbox, a pair of “Hide ALL” and “Show ALL” buttons in the Visibility Options, the ability to use the PlayblastVR “Show Batch Render Using” command with 3rd party rendered images, custom multi-camera rig and stereo rendering MEL scripting support, enhanced PlayblastVR movie encoding to H.265 (HEVC), ProRes 422, ProRes 422 HQ, and DNxHD, QuickTime Player viewing support, and a new PLAYBLASTVR_TEMP_PATH environment variable for moving the temporary rendered images to another folder, disk, or network volume.

Single User License
The single user license allows the use of the software on a single computer.
10 User License
A 10 user license is available by special arrangement. This allows the use of the software on ten computers.
