Step 3. Install MPLAB C Compiler for PIC32
Now let's install the add-on MPLAB C compiler for PIC32 microcontrollers.
Run the MPLAB C for PIC32 installer file called:
mplabc32_v2_02_windows.exe
Install MPLAB C for PIC32
To install the free version of the PIC32 C compiler select the Lite Compiler option. This version will work fine for our needs and does not expire. The Lite version of the compiler only supports basic code optimizations.
Select the free Lite version of the PIC32 C compiler.

The installer will install the supporting files for the PIC32 Lite Compiler.
If everything installed properly the installer will show a completion dialogue.

Step 4. Install MPLAB C Compiler for dsPIC and PIC24
Install the MPLAB PIC24 and dsPIC C compiler.
Run the MPLAB dsPIC C compiler installer file called:
mplabc30-v3_31-windows-installer.exe
By default let's choose the legacy installation directory option.
By default select the "Legacy Directory Name" option. This works well if you only have one version of the MPLAB C30 compiler installed.
Let's install the free Lite Compiler version.
To install the free version of the PIC24 and dsPIC C compiler select the Lite Compiler option. This version will work fine for our needs and does not expire. The Lite version of the compiler only supports basic code optimizations.

The installer will install the supporting files for the PIC24 and dsPIC Lite Compiler.
If everything installed properly the installer will show a completion dialogue.
If everything worked out we will see a installation complete screen.
