Long Exposure Digital Poi Light Balls
Recently I noticed the trend of people creating long exposure balls of light using light painting. I thought it would be cool to try creating several light orbs of my own using my existing Digital Poi device. The Digital Poi device was created last year using 8 high output LEDs connected to a Microchip PIC18F2685 microcontroller and programmed using MikroC Pro for PIC.
Here are two light balls I created during my first attempts tonight by slowly turning around while spinning the Digital Poi. The images were captured using bulb mode on a Canon D60 DSLR with an exposure of approx. 60 seconds each. The Digital Poi makes it possible to write text or patterns inside the light ball.
