Canon Powershot SD780IS Viewfinder Hack
Here is a quick hack I put together forĀ the Canon Powershot SD780IS / IXUS 100 IS. You take a 3x specimen viewer / bug magnifier / loupe with a 6 cm wide square base that fits over the camera's lcd screen.
Remove the lens from the specimen viewer. Spray paint the clear plastic viewer body on the inside and outside with black matte paint. This will make it so there are no distracting reflections in the viewfinder. Reassemble the viewer body and lens . Next use black electrical tape to affix it to your camera.
This hack makes a great addition for people recording video outdoors if they have a hard time viewing the camera's LCD screen in bright sunlight. I use this when recording model airplanes flying at the field but it would also be easy to use when recording sporting activities.
