New Clearview RC model – Avatar Scorpion Gunship
I recently finished a new model for the Clearview RC Flight Simulator. It is a low polygon model of the Scorpion Gunship aircraft from the movie Avatar. Most of the modeling was done in Maya. Then I loaded the model into AC3D to prepare it for the Clearview Simulator.
The model is available for free. You can download it here. I hope you enjoy it.

Very cool! How long did it take to make?
I spent a few evenings working on creating the model geometry and textures. I modeled the geometry in Maya and then setup the model hierarchies in AC3D. I had to be careful not to have any 5 sided polygons or flipped surface normals. Stefan the programmer of the Clearview RC Simulator was a big help and set up the dynamics for the tilt rotor linkage.

Andrew,
Nice work on the SIM. I wish I had the time and talent to create my own sims.
If you ever do an F9F5 Pather, please let me know. I have looked all over and can't find one for ClearView.
This is the primary Jet my father flew in the Navy and I would really like to show him one.
Hi Kent.
When I searched for existing F9F-5 and F9F-5P flight sim models I found a company called vertigo studios has created one for Microsoft Flight sim.
Here is a link to their webpage:

There is also a free model Grumman F9F-5 Panther for Microsoft Flight sim here:

How much is the cost of such a plane...??
Is it possible to buy one ....??
Hi Haitham.
I haven't noticed any RC model companies selling working remote control models of the Scorpion Gunship. You would have to custom build your own if you wanted one.

Andrew
