New Clearview RC model – Avatar Scorpion Gunship

I recently finished a new model for the Clearview RC Flight Simulator. It is a low polygon model of the Scorpion Gunship aircraft from the movie Avatar. Most of the modeling was done in Maya. Then I loaded the model into AC3D to prepare it for the Clearview Simulator.

The model is available for free. You can download it here. I hope you enjoy it.

Very cool! How long did it take to make?

I spent a few evenings working on creating the model geometry and textures. I modeled the geometry in Maya and then setup the model hierarchies in AC3D. I had to be careful not to have any 5 sided polygons or flipped surface normals. Stefan the programmer of the Clearview RC Simulator was a big help and set up the dynamics for the tilt rotor linkage.
